A sexual interest in feet and footwear, by many accounts, is the most common sexual preference for non-sexual body parts and objects. As sexual expression continues to be largely undiscussed, it is difficult to tell just how many people with this interest there are, especially when referring only to a man's love of men's feet.
This sexual preference can be expressed in many ways. Some men enjoy various shapes and sizes of feet and toes. Some love high arches and others flat feet. Different types of footwear are enjoyed - socks of various types and colors, sneakers, boots, dress shoes and sandals - all of specific brands.

peter-andre.jpg While some men enjoy idle feet or footwear, other men prefer more active feet. Feet pumping automobile pedals, stomping on objects, trampling people, or otherwise moving or manipulating objects or body parts is also seen.

What makes this such a prevalent sexual interest is not known. Neurologist Vilayanur S. Ramachandran has theorized that it is because the feet and genitals occupy adjacent areas of the somatosensory cortex, possibly entailing some crosstalk between the two. It has also been suggested that foot and other "fetish" interests increase in response to STI epidemics. The most recent example being the increase in foot depictions in pornographic literature during the current AIDS epidemic.

There are some issues confronting men who enjoy male feet that are not shared by men who only enjoy female feet. Within the general, largely heterosexual community, enjoying a woman's feet may seem peculiar but is largely accepted. A man's feet, however, is seen by some as unacceptable as a sexual body part. They are seen by some as unclean or dirty. In addition to this, a man may question his own sexuality because of his same sex attraction to feet. So men with a feet interest not only have difficulty for their atypical but by no means uncommon interest in feet, but some must also confront the possibility that he may be, or others may see him as being, bi or homosexual.

A homosexual man may be especially aroused by men's feet in addition to other parts of a man. There are many variations of this, which suggests that the standard "gay, bi, straight" model may not be appropriate in this regard and that the Kinsey scale, with it's acknowledgement of changes in sexual activities and degrees of sexual expression may be more appropriate.
Research continues. Foot Society International would like to be a part of that. Researchers and men who enjoy male feet should feel free to contact us. The more information that is known and published about male feet enjoyment, the more people will be able to accept, and in some cases enjoy, this aspect of male sexuality.
